Outrun Characters

Outrun is an indie game designed and created by Full Sail Students in one month. I was in charge of creating, rigging, animating, and texturing three (3) low-resolution characters in the game: The Pilot (player), the Player Mech, and the Boss Mech.

The textures were created and added via Substance Painter this week after the artists and designers decided on a color pallet.

During this week, I rigged and animated the characters. I ran into many obstacles this week, with programs crashing and files disappearing. A lot had to be re-done numerous times. My fellow artist Bryan Nichols helped me with the player mech animations.

The first week was pre-production week. I met with the designers and other artists and jobs were assigned. We met each other and got to work figuring out what needed to be done, and how it needed to look. Then they were blocked out.
